Tinubu Arrives Brazil For 2024 G20 Summit


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Brazil to participate in the 19th Head of State and Government Summit of 2024(G20).He arrived at 11:03 p.m. local time which is 3:03 a.m. Monday Nigeria time.
The president was received by Amb. Breno Costa of Brazil’s Ministry of External Relations.
The delegation who followed him are Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Livestock Development Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Art, Tourism, Culture and Creativity Hannatu Musawa, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency Amb. Mohammed Mohammed.
The president is expected to hold a meeting to discuss about on advancing Nigeria’s socio-economic reforms.
The event was hosted by the Brazilian President Lula da Silva from November 18–19. The theme of the events “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.”
The discussion of the events will be on economics, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development, global governance reforms, food security, climate change, and the principles of the digital economy.
The Israeli–Hamas war and growing geopolitical tensions between the United States and China are also an important issues for the Brazilian presidency.
